Sewing & Construction

All aprons are designed and sewn by myself.  This is a small operation run out of my own home.  I use the sewing machine handed down to me from my mother.  It is a medium sized machine, not a super, heavy duty, factory machine.  I shop for fabrics online and at the local fabric store.  I cut out the designs by hand and piece everything together on the machine.  Embellishments are sewn on by hand and machine.  No part of the creation of the aprons is outsourced - everything is hand made with exception to the fabric itself.  All edges are sewn with no seams exposed so there will be no ravelly edges or strings.

 Caring for your Apron

All of my aprons are made from 100% cotton fabric that has been prewashed.  The aprons are machine and hand sewn together.  Grosgrain ribbons are used for embellishment but are not prewashed.  Aprons can be machine washed, but will last longer if washed by hand.  Due to the ribbons, I recommend washing with cold water the for the first few washes and then tumble dry.  Remove from dryer immediately and hang for less wrinkles.  Aprons can be ironed, but place a pillowcase over the ribbons or iron apron on the reverse side.  Do not place the iron directly on the ribbons, the iron may be too hot and the ribbon may melt.
